We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) or Control and Instrumentation (C&I) technician to join our Water Production Operations Team based in the SE London region.

This is a mobile role, where you will work on various Water Treatment Works around Brixton, Streatham, Croydon, Orpington, and Dartford.

We seek someone who can work safely, efficiently, and independently, maintaining standards to meet statutory obligations and ensuring asset performance and availability.

An ICA Tech may operate and optimize processes and equipment to ensure water quality compliance, safety, and operational efficiency, including out-of-hours work.


Responsibilities include:

* Installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of water production assets, including level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors.
* Working with SCADA systems, PLCs, and control networks.
* Liaising with and supervising contractors and suppliers.
* Investigating asset failures and implementing repairs promptly to prevent supply interruptions.
* Providing technical advice and training to apprentices.

Base Location: The role is based at Brixton - SW2 1SB or Orpington - Kent - BR6 0SQ.

Working hours: 38 hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, with standby and overtime opportunities, increasing earning potential by approximately £8,000-£10,000 annually.

All PPE, tools, a company van, and a fuel card are provided.


Candidate requirements:

* Qualified to HNC or NVQ Level 3 in instrumentation, control, and automation.
* Preferably hold an 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
* Practical understanding of operational plant and control systems.
* Desirable: experience with Wonderware and ClearSCADA.
* Knowledge of relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley).
* Ability to read circuit diagrams and experience with inverter drives.
* Experience in calibration and maintenance of instrumentation.
* Problem-solving skills and ability to escalate issues.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Resilience and adaptability.
* Ability to work independently and to standards.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Team player with good interpersonal skills.
* IT literacy.
* Full UK driving license.
