The role
As a Technical Assistant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Royal Navy rely on our engineering, project management and digital teams to keep their submarines at sea and submariners safe and this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within this field.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate documentation, updating web content using HTML, and troubleshooting technical issues related to file management and site functionality.
1. Maintain and update digital document repositories, ensuring accurate organisation and version control.
2. Assist in editing, formatting, and managing technical documents
3. Perform regular website maintenance, including updates to HTML content, links, and site structure.
4. Troubleshoot basic web and document-related technical issues (e.g. broken links, formatting errors).
5. Responsible for delivering two bi-monthly deliverables.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Technical Assistant
6. Ability to handle document formatting, editing, and organisation.
7. Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently with structured content.
8. High level of IT skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office
9. An excellent communicator at all levels, both written and verbal.
10. Be a proactive, enthusiastic and forward-thinking individual.
11. An effective problem solver – being able to balance theoretical assessments with pragmatic solutions.
Qualifications for the Technical Assistant
STEM qualification or appropriate experience in lieu of formal education will be considered
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
