About this Role Hours of Work Tuesday 3.30 pm to 10.30 pm and Saturday 12.30 pm to 6.30 pm (52 weeks per year). 13 hours per week. Duties and Responsibilities Health and Safety: To maintain records and reports in line with Health and Safety legislation To administer first aid as and when required To maintain all first aid boxes held in the centre To maintain water temperature and water quality of the pool, conforming to Health and Safety standards Hiring: To maintain an effective booking system to support the hiring of the facilities, and record hirers' usage and costings To ensure that all areas are fit for hiring, including the changeover period To report and log any operational or maintenance-related issues or concerns to the Centre Manager Alix Burnage Centre: To clean areas of the centre during busy periods as and when required To create job sheets when required for part-time staff to follow Swimming Pool maintenance: To operate the plant room to include daily water tests and any associated tasks such as priming the pumps, airing filters, topping up day tanks, pool water/air temperature, backwashing and cleaning poolside To ensure that the cleaning of the centre by the “contract cleaners” is maintained to a high standard Security: To open/lock the Centre at the beginning/end of shifts, as applicable To perform a site walk security check of the whole school, checking windows/doors/lights To identify and communicate any security-related issues that you come across during your working day To liaise with any external contractors when working on site. To ensure that the centre is opened as a whole or part in preparation for the hirers. To ensure that the “contract cleaners” are securing the centre when not in use/and/or to deliver a site check and walk round reporting any issues to the Centre Manager or recording on our system Administration: To maintain records, incidents and lost property books Person Specification and Qualifications Essential: Experience and qualifications: 18 years old or over Good knowledge and experience in facility maintenance management Confident swimmer Good knowledge and experience in marketing building facilities Experience in planning and managing programmes and events Able to set up and maintain operating systems Skill abilities: Results-driven, proven track record in meeting deadlines, working under pressure and exceeding targets Adaptability and flexibility to be able to respond to changing task requirements in an enthusiastic and positive way Passionate, energetic and proactive and a ‘can do’ attitude Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required – prioritising needs of centre management Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentational – able to operate with diplomacy, tact and empathy Desirable : Qualifications: NPLQ (national pool lifeguard qualification) & FAAW (First aid at work) Appropriate qualification in a customer or service-related discipline Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation and experience of carrying out relevant risk assessments Experience of promoting community engagement and involvement
