Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Cheadle – Full‑time (37 hours over 4 days, Monday‑Thursday). This role offers a 4‑day working week and a range of benefits.
Our Opportunity
To contribute to the definition, implementation, and maintenance of the Industrial Strategy for existing products (work cell embedded) and new products (transverse activity extending between upstream/downstream) through day‑to‑day technical support to the onsite industrial footprint. He/she also plays a key role within the wider industrial footprint for key products, driving the right behaviours in Design for Manufacture within Engineering and Projects. He/she supports Procurement as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Industry to ensure our supply chain delivers robust products.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
* Contributes to the manufacturing engineering phase and the successful introduction into production of new and legacy products within a defined production centre/area. Transverse only.
* Works with the engineering teams through the Design, Development, and Qualification phase to review Product Defining Data (PDD) and ensure it is suitable for manufacture. To also analyse and initiate changes to PDD throughout the design and product lifecycle. Transverse only.
* Prepares all data for and runs Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) on behalf of industry, with understanding of HSE regulations.
* Identifies opportunities for manufacturing equipment capital purchases with financial assessment (Cost‑Benefit Analysis & ROI) completed to drive business competitiveness and meet cost targets.
* Assesses the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) of products by reviewing product maturity with project teams to identify and minimise manufacturing risks.
* Is accountable for the definition, setup, preparation, and optimisation of manufacturing processes and tooling for a defined area or product line, i.e. defining and agreeing layout and infrastructure for a product line or manufacturing area.
About You
You will either have proven experience as a manufacturing engineer, ideally from an electro‑mechanical assembly/fabrication background (other manufacturing environments will also be considered).

* Awareness and use of continuous improvement techniques and implementation of lean manufacturing.
* Experience of manufacturing systems.
* Understanding/awareness of connected industrial concepts.
* Industrial experience of implementing new technologies (including change management and impact analysis).
* Strong communication skills & experience training team members.
