About the Role
MITIE Security Ltd is looking for professional and flexible Security Support Officers to join our team in Birmingham, Tamworth and the surrounding areas. This is a support role where you will cover staff absences such as sickness, holidays, and site shortages. Adaptability and willingness to work across multiple sites are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a visible and professional security presence at different client sites.
* Cover shifts at short notice for sickness, annual leave, and staffing needs.
* Conduct access control, regular site patrols, and monitoring duties.
* Deliver excellent customer service to clients, staff, and visitors.
* Complete accurate site records and reports as required.
* Maintain high standards of professionalism and integrity at all times.
* Assist with reception duties such as visitor logging where required.
* Liaise with site management and supervisors to ensure smooth handovers.
* Ensure health & safety procedures are followed on every site.
* Remain vigilant and proactive, reporting anything unusual or suspicious.
Requirements
* Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor).
* Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
* Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
* Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and work independently.
* Previous security experience is desirable but not essential (training provided).
* Good timekeeping and reliability are essential.
* Ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations.
* Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
* Willingness to travel within Birmingham and surrounding areas as needed.
