Our client, a multi-faceted group of businesses with an extensive property portfolio, currently has an exciting new career opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer. There are currently around 12 employees in the Information Technology team, and this role will require you to work alongside the CTO with a degree of autonomy.
The purpose of this role is to develop, maintain, and provide technical support for the firm's IT infrastructure and related solutions, as well as leading technical work streams of projects to implement new or upgrade existing infrastructure solutions.
Growing awareness and understanding of related systems and technical architecture is a key part of the role. The successful candidate will impart expertise and provide processes for others to operate to maintain solutions in their optimum condition, as well as collaborate with team members on global IT initiatives that impact infrastructure, applications, desktop, and information security.
Main responsibilities:
1. Own, develop, and maintain the firm's global server platform and infrastructure architecture.
2. Ensure stable and optimal operations using VMware, Active Directory, Cisco Meraki.
3. Lead the analysis, design, planning, implementation, and optimization of related projects.
4. Collaborate with colleagues in IT and the wider business to support strategic business and IT initiatives.
5. Create and maintain technical documentation.
6. Interact with vendors as appropriate to deliver solutions or fix issues.
7. Be involved in infrastructure security audits as appropriate.
8. Proactively maintain build and patch levels for operating systems and applications.
9. Contribute to budgeting and accounting processes to maintain and evolve systems responsibly and innovatively.
10. Provide general 3rd line infrastructure support aligned with the needs of the firm and the team remit.
11. Provide presence and cover within standard working hours for the team.
12. Work flexibly outside of normal hours as required.
13. Cover out-of-hours (on-call) support on a rota basis.
14. Possess detailed knowledge of Microsoft Server application configuration, including GPO, AD, Patching, Server builds.
15. Demonstrate technical leadership and expertise in Active Directory, Commvault, VMware, Microsoft Windows Server Technologies, Shavlik, Office 365, DigiCert certification, Citrix platforms.
16. Be willing to travel and work with global teams.
17. Respond quickly to requests with a service-focused attitude and professional manner.
18. Be proactive, hardworking, organized, and able to work independently.
19. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
20. Experience in end-to-end implementation of virtual infrastructure solutions.
21. Experience with applications like Exchange, SharePoint, PowerShell is preferable but not essential.
22. Have significant prior experience in a legal or professional services environment.
23. Possess exceptional 3rd line support skills for virtual servers, troubleshooting effectively.
24. Align technology solutions with best practices and security policies.
25. Have good knowledge of Cisco/WAN/LAN technologies.
26. Knowledge of SharePoint is desirable.
