As the "face of the site," you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the school remains a safe, clean, and functioning environment for students to thrive in.
The Role
This is a varied role that requires a mix of physical work, problem-solving, and safety compliance.
* General Maintenance: Carrying out essential repairs, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and decorating.
* Site Security: Responsible for the daily opening and/or closing of the school, including alarm management and key-holding duties.
* Health & Safety: Performing regular inspections and keeping accurate records for fire safety, water hygiene (Legionella), and playground equipment.
* Grounds Upkeep: Ensuring the school exterior is tidy, managing waste disposal, and performing seasonal tasks like gritting during the winter months.
The Candidate
* Skillset: Previous experience in a similar role (caretaking, site management, or the trades) is highly desirable.
* Reliability: You must be a dependable professional who takes pride in the security of the school premises.
* Communication: Ability to work well alongside the School Business Manager and cleaning staff.
* DBS: An Enhanced DBS check is required (we can assist with the application process if you do not have one).
