As Project Manager, you will attract a competitive salary of £80,574 plus car/allowance, and a bonus of 3%. Additionally, benefit from 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, reservist leave including 18 days of full pay and 22 unpaid days, and a personal pension plan with contribution rates of 4% or 5% (matched by 8% or 10% from UK Power Networks).
Your role as Project Manager will encompass managing projects, providing construction assurance from inception to completion, and agreeing and implementing the project delivery strategy. Forecast resource and material requirements, monitor project costs and delivery, manage contractor performance, and provide regular updates. Collaborate with Design, Infrastructure Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Network Operations, and Asset Management to ensure seamless project communication.
You will coordinate and lead a multi-disciplinary, multi-contract project team, providing direction, targets, and milestones to ensure optimal resource use. Deliver projects to time, quality, and cost while maintaining the highest levels of safety and environmental management. Conduct construction assurance through audits on work quality, technical competencies, adherence to specifications, compliance with testing and commissioning procedures, and safety and environmental protocols whilst ensuring completion data is submitted for processing and direct contract resources, materials, and services to maintain project programs.
In the role you work with PMO to ensure programs are current, enabling monthly reports that include achievement, costs, and forecasts. Manage projects to deliver excellent customer service, minimize interruptions, network risk, and customer complaints, while ensuring all team members are aware of safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications, skills, and experience required include a formal qualification from a recognized Project Management or construction professional body (APM PMQ or higher) or an HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering with experience in managing electrical distribution projects. Knowledge of construction management best practice, safety qualifications (IOSH Managing Safely), CDM 2015 regulations, and ISO9001 processes are advantageous. Proficiency in Primavera P6, online project collaboration tools, Microsoft Project, and the Microsoft Office suite is essential. Knowledge of the EHV distribution network and Distribution Safety Rules is desirable.
