Delighted to be recruiting for a fast-growing Insurance Broker in The City of London. They are expanding their legal function with the hire of a Legal/Senior Legal Counsel to join their high-performing legal function. The role reports to a Head of Legal with over 15+ years' experience working in the Insurance industry.
My client will consider a range of PQE levels for this position, from NQs through to 10 years+.
This is a really hands-on and broad role, with a wide variety of work. The position will cover both the UK and global offices for the business, working closely with key internal stakeholders across the group including Finance, HR, IT, Broking and Operations.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
* Drafting and negotiating key commercial agreements (Insurance & Non-Insurance). This will include Procurement, Outsourcing, SAAS, TPAs, TOBAs, NDAs and Broker agreements.
* Providing support around contract and policy wording, as well as assisting on the development of new policies and procedures.
* Developing and implementing the companies legal & risk strategy.
* Providing regulatory support alongside the companies Compliance function.
* Managing ad-hoc litigation matters, including E&O claims or Commercial Litigation.
* Providing ad-hoc employment advice where appropriate.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
* Strong Insurance experience, either from Private Practice or In-House. If you have worked in an Insurance Broking environment, this is desirable.
* Familiar with the regulatory aspects impacting the Insurance industry.
* General Commercial/Corporate experience is a major plus, ideally within Insurance.
* Some experience of litigation and dispute resolution.
* Strong analytical skills and be confident in managing multiple stakeholders, providing clear and concise advice.
