Job Summary:
The Field Technician II will inspect, test, and maintain High, Medium, and Low electrical power equipment. Technicians will work with electrical equipment such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and switches (manual and motor operated). Implement safety policies.
Responsibilities:
* Perform entry-level testing of electrical power equipment without direct assistance, collaborating with Senior Technicians.
* Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and optimize equipment performance.
* Prepare and maintain detailed reports of tests, repairs, and maintenance.
* Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Pass pre-employment drug screening
* Satisfactory criminal background check
* Willing to work overtime and travel out of town
* Valid driver's license with good driving record
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience with voltage verification, contact resistance, insulation resistance, test equipment setup, reading one-line drawings, understanding equipment identification and hazards, electrical theory, LOTO, arc flash, grounding, schematics, and testing apparatus.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or military experience preferred
* 2-4 years relevant industry experience
* NETA Level II Certification
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, lift 70 lbs
