Purpose of the Role
SEED Environmental is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Graduate Environmental Consultant to support our environmental incident response and insurance claim operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in environmental fieldwork, monitoring, data collection, and technical reporting. Working under the guidance of experienced professionals, the role offers practical development in both technical and project management skills, with scope for progression as your experience grows.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct fieldwork including collection of soil, groundwater, and surface water samples during assessment and remediation activities.
* Assist senior consultants with the delivery of environmental consultancy projects across various UK sites.
* Undertake general project administration including communication with laboratories and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
* Support data analysis and interpretation for inclusion in technical reports.
* Compile technical information into figures, tables, and charts for client reporting.
* Assist project managers and contracts teams with the planning and coordination of site activities.
* Follow all safety and operational procedures and represent the business professionally on-site.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
* BSc or BEng in Environmental Science, Geology, Geography, or a related subject.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
* Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider project team.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland, with occasional overnight stays and extended days where required.
Desirable:
* MSc/MSci in Geology, Hydrogeology, Contaminated Land, Environmental Engineering, or a similar field.
* Previous experience in environmental fieldwork, assessment, or monitoring (training will be provided if not).
* Confidence interacting with clients and members of the public on-site.
