Senior Project Planner - Civil Infrastructure | Elgin | Contract
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to join a leading civil engineering and infrastructure organisation based in Elgin. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of major projects from initiation through to completion, working in a collaborative and client-facing environment.
Location: Elgin (office/ site -based 4 days per week)

Key Responsibilities
Lead project planning activities across all stages - from initiation through to completion.
Develop, manage, and maintain project programmes using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, ensuring works are planned efficiently using norms and output sheets.
Monitor project progress and produce accurate monthly reports, identifying and managing variances.
Evaluate programmes, identify critical paths, and implement corrective actions to maintain delivery schedules.
Manage subcontractor programmes, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and milestones.
Interpret and manage programmes under NEC (or similar) contracts from a contractual perspective.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to communicate progress and resolve programme issues.
Mentor and support junior planners, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development within the team.
About You
Proven experience delivering projects from initiation to completion within the civil infrastructure or construction sector.
Stable employment history demonstrating consistent delivery and commitment.
Strong understanding of planning principles and techniques, including output-based planning and resource loading.
Excellent working knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel (practical P6 skills will be assessed at interview).
Experience managing progress updates, monthly reporting cycles, and subcontractor programmes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence working in client-facing roles.
Demonstrated experience under NEC or similar contract forms.
Ability to lead by example, mentor junior team members, and contribute to a high-performing project delivery team.
