Maintenance Technician- Saw-shop Based Dalbeattie 42.5hours/week, Monday-Friday £Competitive Salary As a leading hand you will be working hands on with a team of skilled saw doctors within our engineering department. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of the sawmill cutting edges, to specification, and schedule as well as reacting to ad Hoc repairs. Specifically, some responsibilities of Maintenance Technician, Saw-Shop include: Ability to assist in planning a schedule of saw and tool maintenance. To Supervise and assist in the correct repair and replacement of a wide range of saw blades. To supervise and assist in the sharpening, straightening and stretching of saw blades. Working collaboratively with the wider engineering and production teams to resolve cutting issues relating to tooling. Working to and implementing the correct standards of Health & Safety, safe working practices and use of PPE. Assisting the supervisory and management team with the implementation of policies and procedures within the saw doctor team. About you: Already an experienced Saw Doctor within the Timber industry or a relevant tool room, you will be technically minded and hold you work to a high level. Working in a Modern saw shop, you are confident in working alone or alongside a small team. In addition, you’ll have; Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good computer skills. A high level of organisational skills and attention to detail. Problem solving skills. The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a busy environment.
