About the role
As Lecturer in Hairdressing & Barbering, you will deliver engaging lessons, assess progress, and provide the pastoral and academic support that helps students succeed. This role requires strong planning and organisational skills to create dynamic learning experiences that meet curriculum, quality, and awarding body standards. You will also collaborate with colleagues to enhance enrichment opportunities, promote work experience, and maintain effective links with industry.
Key responsibilities
* Teach and assess across a range of courses within your specialist field
* Plan lessons, prepare resources, and complete marking to a high standard
* Support learners through tutorials, guidance, and individual learning plans
* Promote employability skills and industry links
* Accurately maintain attendance, progress, and achievement records
* Contribute to learner recruitment and enrolment activities
About you
* Relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
* Recognised qualification in hairdressing/barbering
* Experience teaching or training in a relevant subject area
* Passion for inspiring and supporting students of all abilities
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion
* Must hold a valid/current ENHANCED DBS
