Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor
* Location: Barnsley
* Job Type: Full-time, Interim (6 months minimum)
* Hourly Rate: £21.69 per hour PAYE or £27.01 via Umbrella
Our client is seeking a Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor to provide technical expertise in building maintenance, ensuring high quality and safety standards. This role involves managing both Revenue & Capital workstreams under the guidance of the Senior Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer service and a right-first-time approach.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
* Conduct technical surveys, produce detailed scopes of work and drawings.
* Manage contracts and track jobs from initiation to completion, ensuring robust financial control.
* Collaborate with various service areas to develop and review strategies, policies, specifications, and action plans related to Repairs & Maintenance.
* Manage stakeholder and contract relationships for daily operations and project completion.
* Ensure projects are executed to specification, within time scales and budget.
* Develop and monitor Repair & Maintenance works, ensuring compliance with contractual Key Performance Indicators.
* Maintain up-to-date computerised records of Housing Stock and manage data for decision-making.
* Develop communication solutions for customers, staff, and stakeholders, ensuring all enquiries and complaints are addressed promptly.
* Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and health & safety obligations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Relevant Level 4 qualification (e.g., HNC/NVQ) or extensive experience with a willingness and ability to achieve the qualification.
* Experience in a similar role within domestic and non-domestic stocks.
* Ability to diagnose building defects and make technical recommendations.
* Knowledge of Repairs Maintenance & Building Construction methods in social housing.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* General IT proficiency, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.
