Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Senior Support Worker/Team Leader to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to children in a residential setting. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment, and the ability to effectively communicate with both staff and children. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising teams within care settings and possess a thorough understanding of care plans and individual needs.
Must- Hold a Level 3 in Residential Care or Children & Young Peoples Workforce
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a team of care staff, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times.
* Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
* Foster a supportive and positive environment that promotes the well-being and development of children.
* Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for improvement.
* Maintain accurate records of children's progress, incidents, and any changes in their care plans.
* Liaise with external agencies, families, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards within the care home setting.
* Provide training and support to new staff members, promoting continuous professional development within the team.
* Drive company vehicles as required for transporting children or attending meetings.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within a care home or similar environment is essential.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and adults alike.
* A good understanding of care plans and the ability to adapt them according to individual needs.
* IT proficiency for maintaining records and documentation accurately.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children as needed.
* Experience in senior care or working with children with special needs would be advantageous but not essential.
