Overview

Sales Manager - FTC (Fixed Term Contract) at Airbus Helicopters, Oxford, United Kingdom. 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. This role is based at Oxford Airport with frequent travel across the UK and Ireland.


About the Role

The Sales Manager will be a dynamic and results-driven individual accountable for selling all AHUK offerings including aircraft, UAS, support and service contracts (including By the Hour contracts), training services and products and spares into the Private Business Aviation, parapublic (HEMS and police), and military sectors. The role requires strong sales capabilities, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, commercial awareness, and the ability to align customer needs with the Airbus portfolio of solutions and products. The Sales Manager will generate a clear pipeline of qualified opportunities and is responsible for revenue and margin to meet and exceed AHUK sales targets. Quotas apply across revenues, margin, helicopter types and products across all AHUK market segments. The role covers the entire sales lifecycle from lead generation to delivery, with coordination with Customer Support Managers to realize ongoing sales opportunities post-delivery.


Key Responsibilities

* Business Development and Sales: Achieve and exceed annual and quarterly sales targets and KPIs for the Private Business Aviation, parapublic, and military markets in the UK and Ireland. Identify, pursue and close new business opportunities including fleet modernisation, customisation, new aircraft sales, and other AHUK offerings. Develop business opportunities across relevant AHUK sectors as defined by the Head of Sales and Commercial. Achieve minimum assigned aircraft volumes and margin protection. Collaborate with the Commercial team for market analysis and identify gaps and opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. Represent the Voice of the Customer within the AHUK Sales team and keep the Head of Sales and Commercial informed of customer concerns.
* Pipeline Management: Develop and manage a robust pipeline from prospecting to closing to ensure a healthy flow of bookings and deliveries. Involve relevant AHUK stakeholders at the appropriate times. Monitor and forecast sales performance and conduct regular pipeline reviews and meetings with leads and customers to progress deals.
* Leadership and Development: Support the Head of Sales and Commercial and Senior Commercial Operations Manager with coaching. Adhere to the sales process, utilize Salesforce and other reporting tools, and conduct weekly pipeline reviews. Participate in sales and marketing training to enhance product knowledge.
* Commercial Operations Liaison: Align commercial proposals with customer expectations and profitability goals. Ensure a high-quality customer experience from sale through to after-sales support. Ensure Export Compliance and taxation information is managed appropriately.
* CRM and Reporting: Maintain accurate sales activities, forecasts and customer data in Salesforce. Use CRM data to generate reports and drive decision making.

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills

* Proven experience in sales, business development and customer service within aerospace, defence, or aviation.
* Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and margin targets.
* Experience managing and growing a sales pipeline with forecasting in Salesforce or similar CRM.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; excellent communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Fluent English; further languages (e.g., French or German) are advantageous.


Desirable Qualifications

* Knowledge of Private & Business Aviation, Parapublic or Military segments. Knowledge of Airbus Helicopters and products. Experience with customer support management. Strategic, proactive, results-oriented thinking.


Education

* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Aviation Operations or related field, or equivalent experience. IT literacy including Salesforce, SAP Concur, Google Apps, G Suite, Microsoft Office, and related CRM tools.
* Willingness to train with new IT tools as needed.

Additional Requirements

* Due to the nature of the role, DBS security clearance and eligibility for SC clearance are required.
* Applicants must meet Export Compliance Regulations.
* This is a field-based role with a home office at Oxford Airport, UK, and requires frequent travel within the UK and Ireland and occasional European travel.
