Behaviour guidance - notice issues early, keep things calm and help students refocus quickly. Progress tracking - spot the "got-it" moments, jot quick notes and relay them to the class teacher. All-round teamwork - liaise with teachers, pastoral staff and SENCOs so each learner gets what they need. Classroom or youth-work experience is helpful; calm communication and a willingness to learn are essential. Sound safeguarding knowledge and the judgement to put it into practice.
