Overview
Gatehouse Veterinary Centre is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist (Full-Time/Part-Time) to join our friendly and supportive team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a busy reception desk and delivering excellent customer service. As the first point of contact for clients, you will help ensure a comfortable and positive experience for clients and their pets, including greeting clients, answering phones, booking appointments, and providing information on our services and products.
Responsibilities
* Greet all clients in a friendly and professional manner.
* Answer telephone calls from clients in a welcoming and calm manner.
* Provide excellent customer service, inform and educate clients sympathetically.
* Convert inquiries into appointments to maintain pet healthcare.
* Efficiently organise the appointment diary.
* Handle and update client data and records.
* Record relevant information in the practice system to support the clinical team.
* Ensure the accuracy of invoices and collect payments on the day of treatment.
* Make pre-op reminder calls and reschedule missed appointments.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
* Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is preferred; experience in other animal care roles will be considered.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.
* Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
* Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
Working Pattern
This role involves working 30 hours from Monday to Friday with 1 in 6 Saturdays. You would be expected to work at each of the sites during holidays for cover. Weekend work is at the main branch in Lavister.
