Type: Permanent / Contract
What You’ll Be Doing
* Member of the project team responsible for delivering the HVAC design function for the Site Management Projects area.
* Work alongside a small, close‑knit team of designers to hit key project milestones and goals.
* Meet the targets identified in the Schedule.
* Ensure that design solutions meet safety case requirements and are radiologically and conventionally ALARP for implementation and operation.
* Site surveys of mechanical and building services drawings.
* Production of design and detail drawings associated with the vent for Alpha ventilation systems, checking and back draughting of drawings.
* Production and modification of drawings for process plant layouts, piping routes, isometrics and as‑built drawings, production and modification of Engineering Flow Diagrams (EFDs) to as‑built status for the project.
* Production of valve schedules – creating and editing existing valve schedules for the project.
* Production of Ventilation Flow Diagrams (VFDs) to as‑built status for the project, production of single line diagrams (SLDs) to as‑built status for the project, maintaining project records.
* Competent use of 3D modelling package to share design progress during technical and project meetings.
* Work with integrated design teams, systems engineers, and other project functions to achieve seamless project delivery.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years’ design delivery experience OR other qualification such as HNC and HND, with 5 or more years design delivery experience.
* Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear industry.
* Recent experience of Nuclear Vent plant design and the decommissioning of redundant plant would be advantageous, but not essential.
* Experience of ‘Design for Assembly’ within a nuclear facility.
* Experience in the production and development of nuclear ventilation plant layout.
* Able to carry out site surveys and complete as‑built information.
* Comfortable working under time and cost constraints.
* The candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively with team members and the client.
* Competent on 2D and 3D Autodesk CAD Products.
