We are currently seeking a Food Technology Classroom Support Assistant
Hours: 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 2pm Friday (term time only) – 32 Academic weeks per year, plus Inset Days, plus 10 additional days to be allocated by the Faculty Lead on agreement. - Location: Yateley, Hampshire
The Food Technology Classroom Support Assistant plays a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning within the Food Technology department. The role ensures a safe, organised and well-resourced practical environment while providing classroom, administrative and technical support to the Food Technology Teacher.
Salary - £22-26k - actual salary payable.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom & Student Support, provide general in-class support, including helping students engage in lessons, offering guidance during practical tasks, and supporting those with additional needs
Assist the teacher in delivering practical lessons by preparing ingredients, equipment and learning materials. Supervise classes on a short-term basis when the teacher is temporarily unavailable.
Help maintain positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
Compile and organise student work and support the recording of practical outcomes.
Monitor stock levels, order and collect supplies, and manage deliveries. Maintain accurate inventories and ensure equipment, tools and ingredients are safely stored and well organised.
Report maintenance issues and communicate with the school office and Food Technology Teacher regarding upcoming requirements.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas, including daily cleaning, waste disposal and end-of-week close-down.
Support adherence to health and safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment for students and staff.

Take responsibility for ongoing learning, updating knowledge and skills relevant to the role Participate in training and CPD opportunities as directed.

Person Specification Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role or educational environment is desirable. · Strong organisational and time-management skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. · A passion for food and cooking.
