Job Title: General Ledger (GL) Accountant
Working Pattern: This is a full-time, office-based role (5 days per week)
Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and solutions-driven GL Accountant to join our Record to Report (RTR) team. This role is pivotal in delivering accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders, including the Senior Manager RTR and the Group Financial Controller RTR. Operating within the RTR stream, the GL Accountant will collaborate closely with site accountants to support financial performance and reporting. This is a diverse and engaging role that will suit someone who is flexible, analytical, and adept at problem-solving.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team producing financial reporting for all business units
* Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including submissions to Pilgrim’s US
* Contribute to monthly and quarterly financial disclosures
* Ensure all reporting is completed in line with established group timetables
* Develop deep knowledge across key financial areas including revenue, cost of sales, overheads, inventory, and fixed assets
* Prepare and maintain key balance sheet account reconciliations feeding into overall entity reconciliations
* Support the preparation of annual and statutory accounts
* Collaborate with other finance team members to ensure consistency and best practice across business units
* Participate in cross-functional projects, offering financial expertise and insights
* Uphold the highest standards of financial integrity and consistently demonstrate company values
* Support and coach junior team members, contributing to a highly motivated team environment
* Carry out other duties as required to support the efficient running of the Pilgrim’s Shared Services Centre
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar GL or RTR role
* Strong technical accounting knowledge
* Experience in preparing financial statements and reconciliations
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrates integrity and alignment with company values
