Job Title:Soft Services Manager (Cleaning & Facilities Management)
Status:Permanent, Full Time
Hours:37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £35k to £38k depending on experience.
Location:Based in Birkenhead, covering the Northwest of England
Reporting to:Operations Director

With an ever-growing customer base, we continue to expand and diversify across the Northwest of England. We are now seeking an experienced Soft Services Manager to join our team and support the continued delivery of high standards across our operations.
The Role
As Soft Services Manager, you will play a key role in the operational delivery and management of our cleaning staff and soft service technicians. This multi-faceted position will see you working closely with the Operations Director to ensure safe, compliant, and customer-focused environments across all client sites.
You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, manage schedules, and ensure that our teams are performing at their best, while maintaining strong relationships with our clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
·Manage and oversee cleaning operations across multiple sites, ensuring high standards and consistent service delivery.
·Schedule and coordinate the activities of Soft Service Technicians, ensuring timely and effective execution of FM services.
·Liaise with current staff and agencies to arrange cover for staff holidays for remote staff, ensuring operational continuity. Out of hours response may be required on occasion.
·Conduct regular site visits and audits to ensure performance, safety, and compliance standards are being met.
·Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, GDPR, and internal operational procedures.
·Act as the primary point of contact for client queries, operational updates, and service review meetings.
·Lead on recruitment, onboarding, staff development and performance reviews in collaboration with HR.
·Manage stock levels, procurement, and usage of cleaning supplies, ensuring cost efficiency and minimal waste.
·Play a key role in emergency response procedures, including evacuations and continuity plans.
·Ensure accurate record-keeping, including compliance documentation, incident reporting, and staffing records.
·Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and customer service across all teams.
What We’re Looking For
·Proven experience managing cleaning teams and/or FM technicians in a facilities management environment.
·A hands-on leader with strong team management and people development skills.
·Confident communicator with the ability to present and engage with clients and senior stakeholders.
·Strong organisational and scheduling skills, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
·A sound understanding of soft services operations, including Health & Safety, employment law, and compliance requirements.
·Tech-savvy, with good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and job management systems.
·Experience in recruitment, disciplinary processes, and managing risk assessments.
·Full UK driving license and a 5-year checkable employment history are essential.
