Job Opportunity: Personal Advisor (Leaving Care)
Location: Central Bedfordshire Council, SG17 5TQ
Hours: Full-Time – 37 hours per week
Pay: £16.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary – 3 months (ongoing)
Driver Required – Own vehicle and willingness to travel essential
You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of support through the Pathway Assessment and Planning process, ensuring young care leavers receive guidance in key life areas including:
* Education, Training & Employment
* Accommodation & Independent Living Skills
* Health & Wellbeing
* Financial Assistance
* Personal, Family & Social Relationships
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of care-experienced young people, developing and reviewing Pathway Plans tailored to their individual needs.
* Provide support, advice, guidance, assistance and counselling aimed at enhancing and protecting each young person’s welfare.
* Conduct timely Pathway Assessments in partnership with young people, carers, social workers, and other professionals.
* Ensure all plans are holistic, strength-based, and promote successful transitions to independence.
* Record young people's views and ensure their voice is central to all assessment and planning work.
* Respond appropriately to support requests and determine assessment needs.
Requirements
* Experience working with care-experienced young people
* Strong knowledge of the Pathway Planning process
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
* Able to travel within Central Bedfordshire as required
