Job Summary
The post holder will support the EPRR Manager to ensure MFT meets statutory obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (CCA). The Trust is a Category 1 responder with key emergency response duties. The role supports the production of Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), ensuring regular testing and review to meet ISO 22301 standards. The holder will also undertake annual self‑assessment against the EPRR Core Standards, develop action plans and monitor risks. They will work directly with Clinical Groups to enhance resilience through governance and delivery via EPRR Forums.
Main duties of the job
The EPRR Officer supports the Manager in meeting statutory duties and maintaining organisational preparedness. The focus is on business continuity management: working with Clinical Groups and corporate services to develop, maintain and review BIAs, identify critical functions, recovery time objectives, and key dependencies. The officer advises on risk mitigation, supports testing and exercise of plans, monitors compliance, contributes to assurance reporting and incident response debriefs.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Degree or Masters with at least 3 years full‑time experience as an EPRR Officer or similar role, preferably in an NHS setting, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. RSPH Level 4 Diploma in Health Emergency Preparedness, Resilience, and Response; Postgraduate Qualification in EPRR/Emergency Planning).
Desirable Qualifications
* Professional courses related to EPRR (e.g. Business Continuity Certification, Emergo Senior Instructor Course, Teaching Qualification, Loggist Train the Trainer, Project Management Qualification, Risk Management Qualification).
Essential Experience
* Demonstrated experience in Business Continuity and ISO 22301;
* Strong knowledge of Civil Contingencies Act 2004, NHS England EPRR Framework, Core Standards;
* Awareness of major critical and business continuity incidents, CBRN and cyber incidents;
* Experience creating, delivering and managing exercises to test plans with services and senior leadership;
* Knowledge of command and control structures and training of commanders;
* Experience chairing and leading meetings, preparing reports, minutes, agendas and terms of reference.
