About the Role
Sherwin-Williams is seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join our Passive Fire Protection team supporting the EMEAI region. This is a technically focused role requiring strong expertise in structural steel design, particularly cellular beams, and experience within consultancy or fabrication environments.
You will act as a technical authority within structural fire engineering, support complex engineering solutions, mentor junior engineers, and represent Sherwin-Williams in high-level client and industry engagements. A key element of the role is the development and advancement of structural fire engineering capabilities within our FIRETEX Design Estimator (FDE) software, including ownership of software design specifications and compliance with relevant design codes.
1. Provide advanced structural engineering advice and fire-engineered solutions for complex projects.
2. Engage with structural steel designer to promote the benefits of structural fire engineering
3. Support estimation and specification activities using FDE, AutoCAD, Tekla, and BIM tools.
4. Represent Sherwin-Williams in standards comittees and councils in the EMEAI region
5. Own and maintain FDE software design specifications, ensuring compliance with EU and NAM design codes
6. Drive innovation in structural fire engineering capabilities within FDE.
7. Mentor and develop junior engineers within Sherwin Williams’ Fire Engineering and Estimation Team (FEET)
8. Engage with clients and industry bodies to promote Sherwin-Williams’ technical leadership.
9. CEng with IstructE
10. Expertise in structural design, including cellular beams.
11. Experience in consultancy or fabrication environments.
12. Experience/Qualified in fire engineering
13. Experience in design of passive fire protection
14. Experience in working in a diverse global corporation
