Brand new positions available for Highway Engineers.
Our client is looking to add a couple new Assistant Highway Engineers owing to a growing portfolio of work. Opportunities exist in either their Glasgow or Edinburgh teams.
Their portfolio of work includes: trunk road schemes, temporary/permanent access roads for energy projects, active travel and local authority projects.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Highways Lead in undertaking design elements such as road geometry, drainage, pavement, road restraint systems, traffic signs, and road markings.
* Producing high-quality design outputs, including drawings, specifications, schedules, reports, and calculations, to achieve the most effective project solutions.
* Collaborating closely with your team and other design disciplines, with an understanding and appreciation of their roles.
* Ensuring that all solutions meet or exceed client needs and expectations.
* Delivering work in full compliance with the Company’s IMS and current health and safety legislation.
* Taking ownership of the quality of your work, with support from senior colleagues as needed, while committing to your professional development through in-house training and engagement with professional institutions.
Requirements:
* Civil Engineering degree
* Working towards chartership.
* Familiarity with DMRB
* Prior experience of design on highway projects
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and a good understanding of its use within a BIM environment.
* A strong desire to learn, progress, and challenge yourself.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
