Job Title: Radar Signal Processing Technical Lead


Location:

Salary:

Circa £80,000 depending on skills and experience


Job Description:

Put yourself into a dynamic Radar Signal Processing Technical Lead role at the forefront of real-world demands in the defence industry. Alongside ensuring operational excellence for our existing products, there will be opportunities to develop next-generation radar products to counter emerging threats and contribute to our strategy for new technology. Your daily tasks will be exciting and diverse, applying the principles of System Engineering across the entire development lifecycle as you join in developing radar systems used by those who serve and protect us.


What you’ll be doing:

1. Lead design and architectural implementation of a common signal processing platform for future complex radar products, providing technical leadership and focus to a team that will design, implement, and integrate signal processing solutions into radar products.
2. Interact effectively with the project technical authority, project engineering manager, and senior stakeholders.
3. Collaborate with specialists across different engineering disciplines including electronics, electrical, mechanical, and software to ensure a consistent system design approach.
4. Apply and champion the Systems Engineering principles of ISO 15288 throughout the entire engineering lifecycle, from requirement definition to system integration, customer acceptance, system support, and disposal.


Your skills and experiences:

1. Expert understanding of Signal Processing algorithms and their implementation in a real-time, software-driven environment.
2. Knowledge of the relationship between algorithmic, software, and hardware platform implementation.
3. Experience leading signal processing architectural development and design activities.
4. Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
5. Experience in complex radar signal processing.
6. Knowledge of software and hardware engineering lifecycles from requirements capture to in-service support is highly desirable.

The Radar Systems Engineering team:

As the Radar Signal Processing Technical Lead, you will lead the design and implementation of a common signal processing platform for future radar products. You will provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring integration of signal processing solutions across the full engineering lifecycle. Working closely with senior stakeholders and engineering specialists, you will apply and promote ISO 15288 Systems Engineering principles to deliver a consistent and effective system design.

This role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Our Cowes workplace is accessible from Southampton via ferry and shuttle service. Our flexible working approach allows you to balance work and personal life, including options for part-time hours, flexible start and finish times.
