Alexander Daniels is recruiting on behalf of a growing and dynamic organisation in Burton-on-Trent. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join the finance team. The role offers exposure to purchase ledger, sales ledger, and management accounts, with opportunities for progression and professional development, including study support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage purchase ledger and sales ledger processes accurately and efficiently.
* Assist with the preparation of management accounts and month-end reporting.
* Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Support the finance team with daily accounting tasks and financial administration.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
* Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency within the finance function.
Experience & Skills:
* Previous experience in a similar accounting role, with exposure to purchase ledger, sales ledger, and management accounts.
* Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
* Proactive, motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
* Full driving license required due to limited public transport in the area.
