We are looking for a talented Electronic System Engineering Student to join our team in Huddersfield specializing in Controls & Electronics for our L Platform Global VII program. This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence on Summer 2026.
Responsibilities
* Supporting Engineering: Assisting developing requirements of L Platform Global VII engine. Support with building test benches and wiring schematics.
* Compliance Knowledge: Developing and maintaining laboratory environment and automation testing using CAN tools and other tools for data acquisition.
* Employee Relations: Assisting other team members within the controls and electronics organization.
* Policy Adherence: Ensuring all lab safety and policies are met and followed.
* Team Support: Supporting team members in need of controls setup and system integration.
* Report Management: Understanding and assisting in controls automation testing and generation of test reports that meet today’s V-model structure.
* Record Keeping: Coordinating and maintaining laboratory test setups, materials, and component inventories.
Qualifications
* We are looking for a wide range of candidates studying towards an Automation/ Energy/ Electrical/ Automotive Engineering degree course.
* Strong logical thinking, effective time management, and collaborative teamwork skills.
* Ability to show initiative with a creative mindset.
* Evidence of extra-curricular or voluntary experience in line with Cummins company values may be beneficial.
