An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principle Engineer to join a globally recognised aerospace company. This role offers the chance to work on development projects within a high-performance engineering team, supporting innovative product design. Key Responsibilities
1. Manage internal technical projects in line with strategic product development goals
2. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure effective project delivery
3. Provide technical guidance and develop internal engineering capabilities
4. Report to the Engineering Manager on all aspects of assigned projects including timelines, quality, deliverables, and costs
5. Support the preparation of proposals and participate in customer and supplier meetings
6. Coordinate team members working on specific programmes
7. Support and participate in product certification and qualification test activities
8. Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation including certification applications
9. Approve engineering drawings and modifications using CAD (Creo) and data management systems
10. Contribute to the development and implementation of engineering tools and processes
11. Identify opportunities for and lead continuous improvement initiatives
12. Participate in design reviews and other technical meetings
13. Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all health and safety policies
Qualifications and Experience
14. BSc / BEng / MSc in Mechanical Design Engineering or similar
15. Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably Creo) and the ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
16. Strong understanding of engineering principles including materials, mechanisms, and electromechanical systems
17. Extensive experience in the design of electromechanical mechanisms, machines, and actuators
18. In-depth knowledge of BS8888 drawing standards and GD&T
19. Strong understanding of bearings, lubrication, and tight-tolerance design
20. Solid background in gear and actuation system design preferred
21. Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing is advantageous
22. Experience in the design, testing, and certification is ideal
