We are currently working with a fantastic Alternative provision in the Mansfield area who are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join their setting, supporting the current Manager with the day-to-day running of the provision and leading staff to ensure high-quality outcomes for pupils.
This is a key leadership role for someone with previous experience in Alternative Provision, SEMH, or specialist education, who is confident managing staff, maintaining standards, and supporting pupils with a variety of needs.
This is a full time, temp to perm role to start ASAP.
The Role:
* Supporting the Manager with the overall operation and development of the provision
* Leading and managing staff on a day-to-day basis, including guidance, supervision, and support
* Ensuring consistent behaviour management and safeguarding practices
* Overseeing routines, timetables, and pupil engagement
* Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs to achieve positive outcomes
* Liaising with staff, external agencies, and parents/carers where required
* Contributing to policies, procedures, and quality assurance
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience in a leadership or management role within Alternative Provision, SEMH, or specialist settings
* Strong people management and leadership skills
* Confident behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Excellent organisational and communication abilities
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory requirements
* Calm, resilient, and solution-focused approach
