Offer description

Role Title: Supporter Operations Assistant
Salary: £27,832 to £28,608 Pro-rata
Location: Office Based-Chard, Somerset
Tenure: Permanent, Part Time-17.5 hours per week

ActionAid UK is a member of the ActionAid Federation, an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. We work with our partners and dedicated staff in 43 countries to end violence and fight poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want

Are you a keen advocate of women and girls’ rights in emergencies?

Do you have proven experience in the delivery of a professional administration service?

Then we'd love to hear from you!

At ActionAid UK, our supporters are at the heart of everything we do. Every letter sent, every record updated and every interaction handled with care helps power a global movement standing alongside women and girls fighting for justice. We’re now looking for a Supporter Operations Assistant to join our Funding Directorate and play a vital role in delivering outstanding supporter care. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated and mission-driven team that ensures supporters feel valued, heard and connected to the change they help create. Based in our Chard office, you’ll provide high-quality administrative support across the Supporter Operations team, helping to keep our systems, processes and communications running smoothly and accurately.

A key part of the role involves supporting our child sponsorship programme. You’ll coordinate incoming supporter correspondence, ensuring it is carefully logged, safeguarded and prepared for despatch in collaboration with colleagues and country programmes across our global network. You’ll also help process gift returns and manage rolling schedules so that communications reach the right places at the right time. Beyond sponsorship, you’ll support the wider supporter administration function by maintaining accurate records on our database, managing returned mail and assisting with data updates and cleansing alongside specialist teams. You’ll also play an important role in fulfilment activity, helping to prepare information packs, print and collate materials, manage stock and ensure supporters receive the correct resources promptly and professionally.

This is a collaborative role where flexibility and teamwork matter. You’ll provide cover across the Supporter Operations team when needed, support department wide meetings and away days, and contribute to a positive, inclusive working culture. Throughout everything you do, you’ll take a supporter-first approach, ensuring individual needs are considered at every point of contact. We’re looking for someone who is organised, accurate and motivated, with proven administrative experience and confidence handling data, emails and telephone enquiries. You’ll be comfortable working independently while also thriving as part of a wider team, and you’ll bring strong communication skills and a willingness to engage in repetitive but meaningful work. A basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, and experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a bonus.

Just as important as your skills is your commitment to ActionAid’s values. You’ll share our dedication to feminist principles, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and our journey towards becoming an anti-racist, decolonised international NGO. You’ll be keen to develop your digital skills, work in line with supporter legislation and codes of practice, and contribute to a culture that is bold, connected, optimistic, open and respectful. If you’re looking for a role where your attention to detail directly supports global justice, where administration is a force for impact, and where your work helps strengthen relationships with thousands of committed supporters, we’d love to hear from you.
