We are looking for a Technical Manager with a Gas background to lead the management of gas systems, assets, and operations across multiple facilities in Newcastle. What You’ll Do:
· Lead a Skilled Team: Manage and guide a team of gas engineers and technical staff, ensuring best practice in installation, maintenance, and repair of gas systems.
· Oversee System Performance: Ensure all gas installations, pipework, and appliances are regularly inspected, serviced, and operating efficiently in line with legislation and manufacturer guidelines.
· Drive Compliance & Safety: Maintain strict compliance with gas safety regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental legislation.
· Implement Efficiency Measures: Identify and deliver strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs without compromising safety or service quality.
· Technical Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex gas system issues, providing expert support to engineering teams when required.
What We’re Looking For:
· Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in gas engineering, facilities management, or a related technical role.
· Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of commercial and industrial gas systems, including boilers, pipework, controls, and related plant equipment.
· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop technical teams.
· Qualifications: ACS Gas Safe qualifications (commercial gas preferred) and/or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
· Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
· Health & Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of gas safety legislation, risk assessment, and safe systems of work.
