Role and Responsibilities:

* Act as a visible and trusted member of the Executive Committee, shaping business wide decisions with a people first perspective.
* Coach and influence leaders to role model our values led behaviours and approach.
* Provide thought leadership on employment areas such as, industry trends, workforce mix and evolving employment legislation such as the Employee Rights Bill.
* Build strong relationships with our people across all levels of the business promoting the people function as a value add enabler of high performing teams
* Represent the group externally on people and culture matters such as trade bodies & industry forums (NFDA working groups, Auto 30% club)
* Act as the voice of our people in the Executive Committee, ensuring decisions are balanced between business needs and employee wellbeing.
* Ensure a consistent employee experience across the group from recruitment to termination with positive sentiment throughout.
* Uphold standards of integrity, confidentiality and fairness in all people matters, ensuring decision making reflects ethical employment practices and aligns with our values.
* Seek opportunities to create efficiencies with the use of technology, data and automation.
* Benchmark employee branding and offering against industry leaders to ensure the group remain competitive in attracting and retaining talent.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Proven experience in a HR Director / Head of HR role within the UK Automotive retail industry.
* Holds a Honors degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen with a focus on performance through people.
* Experience with large change and transformation programmes across engagement, culture and productivity.
* Strong track record in leading TUPE processes, acquisitions and disposals.
* Experienced board-level contributor and partner
