We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Chef / Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. We here at Whitby's, have now been trading for almost 15 years. And we pride ourselves in be. We constantly strive to be the best we can be. The ideal candidate will become a vital role in supporting the kitchen with food preparation and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. We train all our staff to be the best they can be. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a busy kitchen, while all the time contributing to the delivery of high-quality and delicious meals.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meal preparation, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
* Support chefs and cooks in various kitchen tasks to ensure efficient meal service.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
* Adhere to food safety standards and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
* Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen equipment and workstations as needed.
Skills
* Previous experience in food preparation or a kitchen environment is not at all essential. But a willingness to learn and participate is essential.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility to assist with various tasks as required within the kitchen setting.
