The Role
As an IT Principal Engineer, you will be the technical leader of a Digital Enterprise Services Product Team, supporting the Product Owner by providing expertise, capability, optimisation, maintenance, and retiring technologies that deliver high-quality services to our customers. This role involves working on a strategically important global programme, leading the development and implementation of innovative IT solutions.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Enhancing and maintaining Identity & Infosec components as an Enterprise Platform
2. Leading the development and maintenance of standards for global platforms and services
3. Designing and maintaining system security with an automate-first approach
4. Acting as the lead engineer for systems and services, accountable for service cost, value, availability, lifecycle, and roadmaps
5. Providing technical leadership and expertise
6. Liaising with vendors and internal development teams, ensuring configuration control
This is a full-time hybrid role based at our Malvern or Farnborough site.
Essential experience:
1. Extensive experience in designing, deploying, and operating enterprise-level Identity & Infosec services, M365 & Azure
2. Leadership in guiding technical teams using Agile methodologies
3. Engagement with technical and non-technical stakeholders
4. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Bicep, PowerShell, CI/CD pipelines, Json, ADO, DSC, Confluence, and code repositories
Qualifications:
* A Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or equivalent) or relevant technical experience
