A leading UK main contractor is seeking an experienced Section Manager to join the delivery team on a major industrial project in the South West. This is a key site‑based role, responsible for managing a defined area of works and leading multiple subcontract packages through design, coordination and delivery.
The Role
As a senior member of the project team, you will report directly to the Project Manager and take ownership of the Fit Out section of the project. Your responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing the design, coordination and day‑to‑day leadership of subcontractors across a range of trades.
* Managing multiple engineering and trade packages, with a strong focus on fit‑out
* Reviewing tender information and design outputs produced by consultants
* Ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors and client representatives
* Driving programme, quality and safety standards within your designated area
* Supporting procurement activities, including involvement during the PSCA stage
* Ensuring all works are delivered in line with project requirements, specifications and commercial parameters
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Proven experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor
* A strong track record managing packages on multi‑million‑pound construction projects
* Experience overseeing multiple engineering and trade packages, from internals through to basements
* Background in major industrial or complex construction projects (desirable)
* Clean‑room fit‑out experience or exposure to controlled‑environment projects is preferred.
* Experience supporting procurement and package strategy during early project stages
* Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to lead subcontractors effectively
