Our client is a fast-growing, highly successful business who are looking to hire a Commercial Lawyer to join their in-house legal team on a permanent basis.
This is a standout opportunity for a lawyer in the early stages of their career who wants real responsibility, broad exposure, and the chance to develop strong commercial instincts within a supportive, collaborative legal function.
Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will work closely with teams across the business and be encouraged from day one to take ownership, ask questions, and get stuck into a wide range of matters. The business is constantly evolving, so no two days are the same, you will advise on day-to-day commercial activity while also contributing to larger projects linked to growth, innovation, and brand development.
You will be trusted early, supported when needed, and given the space to grow quickly in an environment where exposure and responsibility genuinely go hand in hand.
What you will be doing
* Acting as a trusted legal contact for internal stakeholders, providing clear, practical, and commercially focused advice
* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts (IT, marketing, professional services, and operational agreements) and customer-facing agreements
* Supporting dispute and claims management, including consumer matters and lower-value claims
* Assisting with compliance activities and working closely with the Data Protection Officer on data protection matters
* Providing company secretarial support where required, including maintaining statutory records
* Advising on new products, services, and commercial propositions as they are developed and launched
* Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory developments and escalating key issues as appropriate
About you
* UK qualified Solicitor
* Trained at a well-regarded law firm, with some exposure to in-house work (including via secondment)
* Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
* Interested in working within a commercial, consumer-facing, and operationally complex business
* Commercially curious, with a strong sense of how legal advice supports business decisions
* Confident communicator who is comfortable engaging with stakeholders and learning on the job
* Proactive, adaptable, and keen to take responsibility in a fast-paced environment
