We have an exciting opportunity for a Principle Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Manchester.
Within this team you will be responsible for providing 3rd line IT systems, cloud and Infrastructure service delivery across the Slater and Gordon group. This role will enable S+G to exploit cloud technology to both differentiate itself and create a source of sustainable competitive advantage. In order to achieve this, we require high-cadence technology services such as rapid application deployment/removal, enable big data analytics and machine learning, provide a high degree of compute flexibility in a secure and economically viable manner.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver robust technology strategy design and roadmaps for future IT investment.
* Make key strategic decisions on the adoption of new infrastructure and systems, and of retiring legacy or non-productive technologies.
* Create technical, infrastructure and application delivery initiatives.
* Troubleshooting and resolving network and server related issues.
* Analysis of infrastructure, and capacity planning for future projects/growth.
* Facilitating meetings with various technical teams and third-party vendors.
* Manage system/application installation, patching, rollouts, releases, and upgrades.
* Manage resources and capacity for BAU activity as well as for new and existing projects.
* Be responsible for Disaster Recovery across all aspects of Systems and Infrastructure.
* Provide technical training, support, and guidance for all escalations.
About You:
* A proven track record of design and documentation for systems/hardware deployment.
* Excellent knowledge of scripting and automation, Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, O365, power automate.
* Current certification / working towards Azure Associate/Expert Level qualifications, MCSE, MCSA, or CCNA, CCNP.
* Good knowledge of SANs and NAS (Pure Storage preferred) and backup/DR software (Cohesity, Commvault) or cloud-based backup systems (Azure site recovery).
* Strong knowledge of SCCM, Monitoring software such as SolarWinds, PowerShell, Azure run books.
* Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN, WAN, Routers, Switches, Meraki, FortiGate firewalls.
* Virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, RDS, AVD, Terminal Services.
* Supervisory skills and knowledge-gap identification.
* Strong management and interpersonal skills
