Job Title: Manufacturing Machine Operator

* Salary & Benefits: £35 – 40k plus premium overtime, healthcare, bonus
* Working Pattern: Continental shift pattern with 18 days off per rotation — lots of time off!
Role Overview
Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production lines within a factory environment, combining machine operation, technical troubleshooting, and process improvement to maintain efficiency, quality, and safety.
Your Responsibilities
* Maintain, operate, and improve manufacturing processes
* Perform machine changeovers and tooling adjustments
* Drive OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and production performance
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures
* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
* Operate machinery that processes, converts, and manufactures materials
* Run automated or semi-automated machines
* Adjust machine settings to ensure product quality
* Monitor performance to ensure smooth operation
* Diagnose and fix minor mechanical or technical faults
* Report complex issues to the engineering team
* Manage line changeovers and setups
* Switch production lines for different products, adjusting tooling and settings accordingly
* Ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
* Inspect finished products for defects
Candidate Requirements & Skills
* Experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment (e.g., manufacturing, automotive, chemicals)
* Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with machines and equipment
* Problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in engineering/mechanics is advantageous
* Mechanically minded with a passion for hands-on work
* Ability to think quickly and adapt
* Excellent communication skills for collaborating with operators, engineers, and supervisors
