Our Corporate Services Transformation Team is an integral part of KPMG's Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) Practice.Joining our industry leading practice will expose you to work on a range of high-profile assignments helping our clients address their most challenging issues and achieve their biggest opportunities. You will benefit from working with and alongside specialists from a number of disciplines and experts.
The Role
As a Director in our rapidly expanding IGH practice you will be central to the development of our growth strategy, identifying opportunities for KPMG to make an even greater impact, originating new work, and managing sustainable growth.
As part of this you will lead the design and implementation of large-scale public service reform, performance improvement, and transformation programmes, with a particular focus on corporate services transformation. You will bring together KPMG and client capabilities to solve complex problems and deliver ambitious outcomes.
As an experienced leader of change in the public and/or private sectors, you may specialise in programme delivery, cost optimisation, process improvement or another discipline, and will also bring enough expertise and experience of digital transformation, public policy, procurement, technology, and operational delivery to design and oversee overarching change programmes. You will be working with senior clients including Programme Directors, Chief Financial officers, Chief Operating Officers, SROs, CEOs and Permanent Secretaries, as well as leaders in the wider public sector including policing, infrastructure and transport, and health.
You will also lead, manage and develop KPMG teams, capabilities and propositions, and will be accountable for developing our ability to deliver high quality work for clients as we continue to grow our share of the market. You will help our people to grow and shape their consulting careers across IGH and the wider firm.
Joining our industry leading IGH practice will expose you to work on a range of high-profile assignments helping organisations, politicians, officials, policy-makers and public sector leaders address their most challenging issues.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work together with KPMG colleagues and clients to:
1. Identify options and solutions to address complex client issues and challenges around the transformation and delivery of their back office(s).
2. Perform a client delivery focused role which typically involves the leadership of complex and large-scale public service reform
3. Develop and sustain client relationships by demonstrating insight and understanding of the challenges facing clients, at a personal, organisational and system level
4. Lead and develop insightful proposals and propositions which demonstrate and contribute to KPMG's market leading position
5. Win and lead client delivery engagements which are commercially viable
6. Lead our teams day-to-day, to produce compelling analysis, presentations, reports and other deliverables that are well drafted, whilst also addressing complex, politically-sensitive issues
7. Design, plan, facilitate and lead events, workshops and interactive sessions to support our clients
8. Proactively maintain project oversight, including financial and project risk management
9. Develop networks across KPMG to bring additional expertise and value to our clients
Skills & Qualifications
10. You will be a qualified accountant (or equivalent) with experience of originating and delivering finance, and corporate services transformation work
11. You will have the credibility and experience to lead KPMG and client teams to assess, design, plan and deliver complex programmes of work - and bring leading practice approaches, points of view and understanding from experience in this field that can make an immediate impact.
12. You will have a good understanding of relevant strategies including the government policy agenda, emerging issues in back-office transformation, integrating technology into leading practice and working across capabilities, particularly Finance, HR and procurement.
13. You will have experience of managing and balancing political, reputational and commercial risk
14. You will be comfortable operating in highly politicised environment that attracts scrutiny from the media and from parliament
15. You will have significant people leadership and performance management experience, including experience of coaching or managing a wide range of staff.
16. You will be experienced and comfortable presenting findings and analysis to board-level clients, Ministers, and governing bodies
You will have considerable relevant experience and will need to demonstrate:
17. Track record of originating and delivering high value public sector, and where relevant, private sector (working into the public sector) consultancy services,ORexperience of developing and leading large-scale transformation programmes
18. Access to a broad, relevant network of public sector policy and delivery stakeholders who see you as a trusted advisor
19. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment including taking initiative in ambiguous and fluid situations
20. Experience of leading programmes and large-scale projects, especially those with a digital and technology component
Candidates must be eligible, able to gain and retain National Security Vetting at the level of Security Check (SC).
