Employment and Training Coordinator

Suffolk Refugee Support is looking for an Employment and Training Coordinator. The Employment and Training Coordinator is a highly rewarding role working to empower refugees and equip them with the skills to gain sustainable employment and training to help improve their quality of life.

You will be responsible for leading a small team working on a variety of employment and training projects and outcomes, accurately monitoring and reporting on the impacts of this work, forging relationships with employers, agencies and other organisations across Suffolk, and managing a small caseload of clients.


What will the job entail?

You’ll be coordinating and leading the Employment Team, leading Suffolk Refugee Support’s Employment and Training partnership programmes and line managing a small team of employment advisors.


What you will need:

* proven experience of effective staff line management and managing a programme
* knowledge of recruitment processes and of employers’ expectations of job seekers
* experience of working with vulnerable individuals and commitment to upholding their legal rights and entitlement
* experience of working with individuals to improve their employability chances within the current employment climate
* experience of developing partnerships or opportunities with external organisations and businesses
* thorough understanding of monitoring and evaluation tools and experience of measuring progress/ success
* good written and spoken English, with experience of report writing
* ability to communicate and motivate people who have low levels of English and/or other barriers to employment
* commitment to inclusive practices and equal opportunities

We work with external agencies, community and voluntary sector organisations, health providers and others to enable our clients to access a range of support. We are based in Ipswich, but our services operate increasingly on location with refugees and asylum seekers housed in accommodation across Suffolk.
