Aberdeenshire Council is looking to appoint an enthusiastic officer to fill the role of Team Leader within the Local Development Plan Team.
The council is at the forefront of development planning in Scotland, and this role offers a valuable opportunity to be involved in the new planning system within a large, prosperous, and rural authority.
As Team Leader, you will play a key role in developing and coordinating actions to deliver a new style Local Development Plan by 2028/29.
A provisional timetable is published in the Development Plan Scheme 2025 https://publications.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/development-plan-scheme.
You will also act as a catalyst and mentor, ensuring team members can reach their full potential and work collaboratively for the benefit of Aberdeenshire Council.
The role includes supporting developers and communities through the Local Development Plan process.
You should be multiskilled and adaptable, with a solid grounding to handle complex planning issues in a cooperative and thoughtful manner during this period of change.
You will work with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors, providing expert advice on the implementation of Planning Framework 4 and the current Local Development Plan 2023.
This is a fixed-term position until no later than 30 September 2026.
