About the role:
A Maintenance Technician at the JCB World Parts Centre & Attachments plays a vital role in keeping the site safe, compliant, and fully operational. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the reliability of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure across this complex, high demand environment. This is a hands on role requiring strong, proven experience across electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance disciplines. Your work will directly support productivity, minimise downtime, and prevent costly operational disruptions, ensuring the site continues to run efficiently and safely at all times.
What does this role involve day to day?
•Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across warehouse and office environments
•Maintaining and repairing site infrastructure, including lighting, power, doors, loading docks, heating, and general building services
•Diagnosing faults and completing electrical repairs and installations in line with current regulations
•Completing plumbing maintenance tasks such as pipework repairs, leak rectification, valves, and fixtures
•Supporting maintenance requirements for warehouse automation systems (e.g. conveyors, automated handling equipment, sensors), escalating to specialist support when required
•Responding quickly to breakdowns, urgent repairs, and facilities issues to minimise operational impact
•Supporting office facilities requirements, including furniture moves, workstation reconfigurations, minor repairs, and space changes
•Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
•Accurately logging all maintenance and facilities tasks using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
•Liaising effectively with warehouse operations, office staff, management, and external contractors
•Proactively identifying risks and improvement opportunities across facilities, maintenance, and automation
•Maintaining tools, equipment, spares, and work areas to a safe and serviceable standard
•Overtime is an essential part of this role
This will be suited to you if...
•You hold a recognised engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent)
•You have electrical certification (18th Edition or equivalent strongly preferred)
•You have a proven plumbing qualification or demonstrable certified competence
•You bring significant hands‑on maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing, logistics, or facilities environment
•You are confident in electrical fault‑finding, repair, and installation work
•You have practical plumbing experience, including pipework, valves, and leak repairs
•You can carry out general building and plant maintenance, including mechanical repairs and installation or modification work
•You are reliable, proactive, and safety‑focused, with strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
•You’re flexible in your approach, comfortable dealing with breakdowns and urgent repairs
•You communicate well and can work effectively with internal teams and external contractors
