An Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) is a tremendously rewarding and fulfilling role. Each day, you’ll have the opportunity to help someone in need, making their lives a little bit easier, while ensuring they have access to medical appointments, and knowing that you make a difference to their day providing you with a real sense of achievement.
We have both full and part time positions available with flexible shift patterns between 05:30-01:00am Monday to Saturday. Shift schedules will be provided two weeks in advance.

Duties include:
8. Assisting in the transportation of ‘end of life’ service users, ensuring a high level of empathy, care, and compassion is present at all times
9. Building rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their family and friends
10. Responsible for lifting, securing and helping service users in and out of the vehicles
11. Assist with the hand over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres, clinics, wards, care homes, and hospital’s or to family/friends at their homes
12. Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to wheelchairs or wheelchairs to wheelchairs in and out of hospitals, care homes and patient homes
13. Ensuring that the ambulance is roadworthy, clean, and presentable
To be considered as an ACA, you will need to be:
14. Committed to patient care
15. An effective communicator and have experience communicating with others in what can oftentimes be emotional situations
16. To be a calm, considerate, and careful driver with no more than three penalty points on your license
17. To have a natural flair for team working and collaboration
18. Be physically fit for patient handling and moving
19. Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded)
20. Be able to work flexible shifts
21. Familiar with the local and surrounding areas
