The Contracts Manager will have full ownership of multiple pitched roofing contracts. This leadership role demands a deep technical understanding and proven track record in traditional pitched roofing systems (including slating, tiling, leadwork, and timber carpentry), as well as experience in fully supported metals such as zinc and copper. The role requires excellence in project delivery, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of multiple roofing projects across various UK sites.
* Ensure every contract is delivered safely, on time, in budget, and to the company's quality standards.
* Act as the main client contact from pre-start to final handover, building strong and sustainable client relationships.
* Lead project teams including site managers, roofers, carpenters, and sub-contractors, setting high standards of performance and conduct.
* Attend and conduct project meetings, surveys, etc. with clients.
* Manage procurement, site operations, labour, and sub-contractors to facilitate efficient project delivery.
* Regularly review progress, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement in processes and team culture.
* Deliver all project documentation, reports, invoices, and commercial arrangements accurately and on schedule.
* Promote the company's professional image.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* 5-10 years' experience in roofing and construction, with specific expertise in traditional pitched roofing systems including slating, tiling, leadwork, and timber carpentry.
* Evidence of project management across multiple sites, with full responsibility from concept through to delivery.
* Proven leadership experience managing site teams and sub-contractors.
* Strong technical understanding of roof construction, surveying, and specification requirements.
* CSCS or SSSTS site supervisor safety certification.
* Full UK driving licence.
* IT skills (Microsoft Office; experience with project management software desirable).
