HGV Class 1 Steel Driver People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Steel Driver to join our well-established client based in Wednesbury, West Midlands. Shifts: • Monday to Friday • 06:00 start times Rates of Pay: • £18.00 per hour Benefits: • Excellent hourly rates • Ongoing and consistent work • Weekly pay • Immediate starts available • Employee well-being programme Day-to-Day Duties: • Operate and drive HGV Class 1 (CE) vehicles safely and efficiently • Deliver flat sheet steel panels (up to two-tonne packs) to various locations • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections • Ensure all loads are safely and securely fastened using appropriate restraints • Adhere to all UK road traffic laws and safety regulations • Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and customers • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance issues to management • Maintain a professional attitude and uphold site safety standards at all times Essential Skills: • Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence • Minimum of 12 months' experience driving CE vehicles • Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card • No more than six points for minor offences (no major endorsements) • Previous experience working with steel loads is essential • Good level of written and spoken English • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping • Strong understanding of UK transport and safety regulations • Effective communication skills Desirable Experience: • Previous experience with multi-drop deliveries • Experience operating other commercial vehicles Training Provided: • Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your employment Apply: This client values its drivers and provides a professional and supportive working environment.
