Main duties
* Be responsible for ensuring that all departmental work is carried out to the relevant professional and quality standards.
* Interpret professional guidelines for adaptation to Trust Protocols and Clinicians' preference of practice.
* Be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is maintained and safe to use.
* Act as a role model for all staff regarding professional conduct in all aspects of patient care.
* Be responsible for own technical competency and development through CPD activities.
* Ensure that State Registration is kept up to date.
* Line manages all staff, providing support and advice, promote a team ethos.
* Line manages the clinical physiology team leaders and through them be responsible for managing the clinical physiologists and associated support staff.
* Be responsible for the compliance and implementation of Trust Policies regarding day-to-day running of the service as well as staff recruitment and selection, sickness, and absence monitoring procedures.
* Responsibility for the departmental budget management.
* Work closely with the Head of Clinical Service and Consultants to ensure that local and national access targets are achieved.
* Undertake the writing of business cases to enable the development of staffing structures, equipment purchases and the financial implications which may occur as a result.
Essential Person Specification Requirements
* Knowledge and understanding of Physiological measurement to HTEC level (or equivalent
* ILS including manual defibrillation.
* Educated to master's level (or equivalent)
* Post graduate qualification or equivalent.
* Experience at Clinical Physiologist or above
* Highly specialist clinical physiology experience
* Proven experience of management/leadership skills and managing staff
* Experience of managing a budget
* Experience of service development/ change management
* Evidence of continued professional development
