We’re looking for an experienced and hands‑on Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join our SHEQ Compliance Team in Coventry.
This role is based at our Coventry Head Office, where you’ll oversee local HSE compliance, with regular site visits across the UK to support operational teams. You’ll work closely with our site managers and engineers to ensure safe systems of work are in place and that health, safety, and environmental standards are consistently upheld.
About the Role
As an HSE Advisor, you will need to:
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and monitor HSE compliance at the Coventry Head Office and workshop
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across UK project sites
* Provide guidance to site teams on HSE best practice and regulatory compliance
* Prepare and review Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS)
* Review subcontractor RAMS and ensure site adherence
* Carry out PAT testing and building compliance checks
* Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and prepare formal reports
* Deliver internal HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks
* Support the SHEQ team with continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Competencies
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong understanding of HSE in construction or quarrying environments
* Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
* Computer literate with strong documentation and reporting skills
* Certified Internal Auditor (desirable)
Qualifications & Experience
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate (desirable)
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within construction, quarrying, or heavy industry
* IOSH membership preferred
* Full, clean UK driving licence (travel to sites required)
* Able to work independently and proactively in both office and site environments
